According to Egyptian television station, Mursi, who successfully bridge the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, has now opted to stay in Cairo and supervise the ceasefire.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, local officials do not know the exact reason for cancellation of the arrival of Mohammed Mursi. However, Egypt’s Vice President Mahmud Mekki scheduled to remain present in Islamabad.
“The vice president of Egypt represented his country at the summit on behalf of the President of the Mursi are unable to attend,” said one official at the Pakistani Foreign Ministry who declined to be named.
“We do not know the reason for cancellation of the presence of the President of Mursi this,” said the official.
Pakistan, who want to use the D-8 summit is an effort to burnish its international image, is already preparing a special reception for the President of the Mursi. Because, he was the first Egyptian leader to visit Pakistan in the last four decades.
